The City of Fairbury Water Department is managed by Duane Ifft, Water Superintendent. Duane has 4 full-time employees including himself and 6 part-time employees.
The Water Plant is located at 1100 S. First Street and is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Bulk water may be purchased at the plant.
Through grant monies that were made available, the City of Fairbury was able to purchase and install many radio-read meters.
The City of Fairbury’s Water Plant earned the 2012 Runner Up Water Plant of the Year by the Illinois Rural Water Association in recognition of excellence for providing a safe and clean water supply. Congratulations to Duane and crew!!
